After the driver drops off a load, they either travel to another load, or go home for hometime. We pay a flat amount for a load that needs to be taken and drivers have access to our 2 load boards. It is up to the contractor to decide which loads will be profitable for them.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You do not need your own truck. You will be driving the actual commercial vehicle to its final destination.
  • No forced dispatch: You decide what trucks you drive.
  • Mix of both manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Loads are paid at a flat rate per load. Pay is guaranteed $1.00 per mile minimum. Average pay rate is between $1.18-$1.40 per mile
  • You will receive 70% of compensation up front for each load and the rest the business day following completion of the load, and completed paperwork turned in.
  • All drivers are self-employed contractors, not employees.
  • As a self-employed contractor, you are responsible for your own health insurance, life insurance, worker’s compensation or 401K.
  • We reimburse for tolls, permits, and scale tickets. We do not reimburse for citations issued to the contractor.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 23 years of age and possess a valid CDL class A or B
  • Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience (regional or OTR), including experience with HOS regulations/logbooks
  • Must know how to drive both manual and automatic transmissions
  • NO DUIs in the past 5 years
  • NO more than 3 moving violations in last 3 years
  • Must be able to provide a current DOT physical medical card.
  • Must have a smart phone, and be willing to keep electronic logs via Keep Truckin App.

 

FAQs:

Q: Are drivers allowed tow vehicles?

A: Yes, many of our drivers tow a personal vehicle for getting from load to load. Drivers must have the personal vehicle properly insured, and are responsible for checking that the load allows towing before accepting it.

Q: What are the drivers’ expenses?

A: Drivers pay their fuel costs, and travel/hotel in most cases. Keep in mind, many of our loads don’t require drivers to get fuel during the trip, and some of our customers pay the fuel cost for delivering the truck with a full tank.

Q: How are drivers paid?

A: Drivers are paid through an EFS Mastercard that acts as a debit card. Drivers receive 70% of the load payment as soon as they arrive to pick up the truck, and 30% once the load is completed and paperwork turned in.

Q: Can drivers get bonuses?

A: Yes!
